I still think about her.

I was in the eighth grade. junior high for some of you. She was my Spanish teacher. About 25 years old and 115 pounds. Milky white skin, short blonde hair and a perfect face. That was only part of the show. Later on Kiku-chan appeared in a lovely red and white kimono. It didn’t stay on all that long, of course. Before the kimono action started, Kiku-chan remembered to remove her panties since, as we all know, women don’t wear knickers under a kimono.

Now, if Steve had only been around when I was in the eighth grade.

Slow news day around here so I guess I’ll talk about the weather. It’s finally gotten cold in Tokyo. Up until recently it had been unseasonably warm. In fact, it hadn’t snowed and people started wondering if this would be the first winter in many, many years without snow.

Then it happened. That’s what the papers said, anyway. Otemachi got a dusting and someone told me he saw some coming down in Shinjuku. I haven’t seen a single flake.

Just so this post won’t be a total waste of time, I’ve included a couple of pics Osada Steve recently sent me which were published in S & M Sniper magazine. As you can see, one is of Steve’s sensei, Osada Eikichi, when he was still going strong, though not a young man by any means.

The other shows Steve with master Akechi Denki. Akechi sensei has, as I’m sure you know, also passed on.

I will tell you a little of what (I think) I know of Akechi Denki. I read somewhere (don’t remember the source) that he was born with a heart defect. At some point he had heart surgery and this appears to have been successful in extending his life. The article seemed to imply that the operation was so successful that his heart was no longer anything to worry about.

I don’t think that was the case, though.

I was fortunate to meet Akechi sensei in person. This meeting occurred almost exactly one year before his death. If I’m not mistaken, it was at the huge Sadistic Circus event held annually in Tokyo. Steve performed that night as did Akechi sensei. Steve knows I like to meet famous people in the SM scene in Japan so he got me backstage and there was the master, sitting in a chair relaxing after the show.

Even then, a year before his death, he looked frail to me. I sat down next to him and he agreed to have a photo taken with me. A young woman was there who had been his show partner that night. I believe she had become more or less his constant companion/manager by that time.

Thanks to Steve, I have met not only Akechi Denki but also Saotome Hiromi and Naka Akira. The meeting with Naka-san was accidental. We had just gone into some bar and there he was with a gorgeous lady friend. The bar was practically empty at the time so I went over to him and asked for an autograph. This was before I had my camera phone so, lamentably, no pictures of that event.

I just put a piece of paper and a pen on the table and asked him to “sign”. This, by the way, is the word used, not “autograph”. He ignored my scrap of paper and had the lady behind the bar fetch a big piece of heavy paper and a black marker and gave me an autograph suitable for framing — and that’s just what I did.

Naka Akira has been in hundreds of bondage videos put out by the biggest names in the business. You will know it’s him by his colorful tattoos. He was really a friendly guy and I think he was somewhat amused by this gaijin asking him for an autograph.

Ironically, though a relatively young man, Naka-san suffered a heart attack but has since recovered and continues in his activities.

As promised, the follow-up to Part I of the Osada Steve (長田スティーブ) interview which was first published in January.

I want to pick a bone with you and get your reaction: I think sophisticated Japanese rope technique is a relatively recent phenomenon. When I look at old black and white photos, the rope ties seem quite simple.

I fully agree that early bondage photos in Japan contain a lot of shoddy and outright silly rope work. However, we are talking about a time when Shibari started to come out of the closet and impishly seep into the print media. Do not forget that what you see in these photos might often be the work of some editor or reader. Shooting videos of naked and bound girls. It sounds like it would be great, but it’s not all fun and games. In fact, it’s a lot of hard work. First, you have to procure the right model. Is this going to be “hard play” or “soft play”?

Then you have to have all your equipment in order. Camera(s), lights, props, etc. It also helps to have a decent location, although, judging from a lot of videos I’ve seen here and abroad, location doesn’t seem to play a very big role for many producers.

I’m now working on a shoot featuring the lovely Nami-chan. I’ve got rough cuts done of two tapes so far. I still have one more tape to get into the computer and, after that, a few more hours of work before these will be Web ready. There are three or four excellent shows from just these first two tapes.

Osada Steve generally tends to start things off with newaza and he doesn’t disappoint here. After tying Nami-chan into a tight little ball, he then proceeds to rope her arms behind her back in an extremely tight bind. You should see the look on Nami-chan’s face. In fact, I think some of the pics below illustrate what I’m saying quite well.

Nami-chan then goes into the air and Steve ties her so that she’s completely spread out and helpless. Bound hand and foot while swinging and spinning.

From the video, I can see at least a couple of guys shooting pictures and at least two videographers. This must have been picture night at Studio Six. I notice that sweet Nami-chan is quite moist from being bound and displayed in such a lewd manner.

Kinbaku Live Night was on as usual Saturday night at Studio SIX. I was out at a karaoke joint pretending I could sing so, I’m sorry to say, I missed the festivities at the dojo. I’ll have to wait and see if I get a report in as to what went on. I do have a few photos which I’m including with this post.

As far as I can tell, this is another new model who wished to be broken in by Osada Steve and, from the pics, it would appear she got her wish.

Steve isn’t using my old straw mat on his floor anymore. I really liked that mat. I bought it at at a “home center” store for a video I shot quite awhile ago. Maybe it got too much candle wax on it.

I also bought straw rope for the video. That’s what I call it, anyway. It’s the kind of rope you see in those famous drawings of torture bondage. Steve doesn’t really use this kind of rope. I don’t know any Nawashi in Japan who uses it. It’s not practical at all for day-to-day use. For one thing, it’s much too scratchy. Many models would have a problem with that.

Besides all the other characteristics it lacks, I also don’t think it’s very strong. It’s okay for stuff on the ground but I personally wouldn’t use it for suspension — unless you use a lot of it.
